Five Western Balkan countries (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia), and the Republic of Moldova secured full access to the European Union’s new seven year research and innovation programme, Horizon 2020, by signing the association agreement on July 1, 2014.
The application deadline for the upcoming eseia International Summer School has been extended until 20 June 2014.
The ASEAN S&T Week (ASTW) is a flagship project of the ASEAN COST, in order to showcase major achievements and potential of S&T generated both in ASEAN Member Countries and Dialogue Partners, relevant to the rapidly increasing needs of the public and private sectors, in light of the region’s goal of achieving a knowledge-based economy.
The Danube-INCO.NET project was successfully kicked-off on February 2nd and 3rd, 2014, at Palais Ferstel in Vienna. Upon the invitation of the Austrian coordinator (ZSI) and the Austrian Federal Ministry as project partner, all 19 project partner were invited to have a first joint meeting. After the presentation of the work to be done in the workpackages, many informal meetings and discussions took place in order to arrange the upcoming tasks and events.
From 03 to 04 February 2014 the Palais Ferstl in Vienna hosted the kick-off meeting for the DANUBE-INCO.NET project. These two days offered the chance for the project partners to meet for the first time face-to-face to celebrate the official launch of the project on January, 1st 2014 on the one hand; on the other hand to hold first working sessions on the upcoming project tasks.
The first ASEAN-EU Science, Technology and Innovation Days took place in Bangkok, in Thailand’s Science Park January 21-23, 2014, and attracted more than 450 scientists, policy makers, funding agencies and innovative companies from across ASEAN and Europe.
