Horizon 2020 Info Day – 14 October 2015, Tokyo, Japan – Work Programmes for 2016-17 and EU-Japan Cooperation

On 14 October 2015, the JEUPISTE project organised a Horizon 2020 Info Day in Tokyo at the occasion of the publication of the new Work Programmes 2016-2017 under Horizon 2020.

The main aim of the event was to highlight the opportunities for Japanese participation in Horizon 2020 by presenting the new Work Programmes in light of cooperation with Japan, featuring examples of Japanese participation and giving an overview of support services in Japan. Among the key speakers were Dr. Leonidas KARAPIPERIS (Minister-Counsellor, Head of the Science and Technology Section, EU Delegation to Japan), Dr. Hiroshi MATSUMOTO (Horizon 2020 National Contact Point (NCP), EU-Japan Centre for Industrial Cooperation), Stijn LAMBRECHT (Coordinator of JEUPISTE project, EU-Japan Centre for Industrial Cooperation), Dr. Hideo NAKAJIMA (JST), Ms. Aïda DIAZ SAEZ (AGAUR), Ms. Sabine PUCH (DLR), Mr. Shuji YAMAGUCHI (Director for International Standardization, Global ICT Strategy Bureau, Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC)) as well as European NCPs of Horizon 2020. The event – which was co-organised by NCP Japan and supported by the Delegation of the European Union to Japan – attracted about 200 participants.
