From 03 to 04 February 2014 the Palais Ferstl in Vienna hosted the kick-off meeting for the DANUBE-INCO.NET project. These two days offered the chance for the project partners to meet for the first time face-to-face to celebrate the official launch of the project on January, 1st 2014 on the one hand; on the other hand to hold first working sessions on the upcoming project tasks.

The Coordinator of the project, the Centre for Social Innovation (ZSI) organized the kick-off meeting. During the meeting project partners discussed the roadmap and main goals of DANUBE-INCO.NET.
RCISD is responsible for ‘Policy framework coordination’ aiming to map R&I stakeholders and programmes in the Danube Region. This activity will analyze already existing cooperation and policy frameworks. It shall lead to the evaluation of the potential for synergies and cooperation. A significant outcome will be a report identifying synergies and defining recommendations for decision-makers.
The Regional Centre for Information and Scientific Development is also leading Work Package (WP) 4, the so-called ‘Analytical Evidence on Research and Innovation’. This WP focuses on the analysis of R&I activities in the Region and will contribute an overview of the current cooperation activities and barriers to cooperation, as well, as the review of best practices in support of R&I, with reference to the policy mix and instrument portfolio.
