Gaál, Tekla – Senior International Expert

gaal_teklaStudies: Ms Tekla Gaál studied English and German literature and linguistics at the Janus Pannonius University in Pécs (Hungary) and received her MA degree in 1997.

Career: From 1996-1999 she was editor and later editor in chief at Jelenkor Publishing House and academic coordinator of the DLA Programme at Faculty of Applied Arts, Janus Pannonius University.
From 1999-2005 she worked as a freelance translator and editor, then as editor and German and English referent at Litera – Online Literary Journal, Budapest.
From 2006-2011 she was cultural and academic referent at the Hungarian Cultural Institute in Stuttgart (Germany).
After returning to Hungary she started working as executive coordinator of the Interdisciplinary Danube Research Institute at the Andrássy German Speaking University in Budapest, where she was head of the Research Support from May 2014-February 2016.
She joined RCISD as senior international expert in March 2016, her main responsibilities include the administrative and thematic management of Danube-INCO.NET and the RI-LINKS2UA projects.
She also coordinates the Dissemination and Communication Team of the H2020 project COURAGE — Cultural Opposition: Understanding the Cultural Heritage of Dissent in the Former Socialist Countries at the Research Centre for the Humanities, Hungarian Academy of Sciences.
